Pre-Conference Program Overview

Before the main conference, EEE 2026 Made in Italy! offers a pre-conference experience focused on aquatic metaphors and learning through direct contact with water (sea and rivers).
This pre-conference combines sailing, stand-up paddle (SUP), shared living and informal exploration, creating a small-group experience designed for presence, observation and reflection.
For this reason the participation is limited to a maximum of 15 people.

Accommodation

Participants will stay at: Residence L’Incanto di Boccadarno located in Marina di Pisa – close to the sea and the harbour and 10 Km away from EEE conference location.

Accommodation is in apartments with 3 beds, with kitchenette, within walking distance of the harbour for the sailing activity of the 28th.

• Check-in: April 27th, from 14:00
• Check-out: April 30th, by 11:00
• Accommodation fee: €120 per person (price for 3 nights)

Activities overview

April 27th – Arrival

• Arrival of participants
• Check-in and settling into the apartments
• Informal time together
• Dinner: either self-organised at the residence using the apartment kitchens, or at a local restaurant. The choice will be made together on site. Dinner is not included and must be paid separately.

April 28th – Sailing day

• 09:00 – approx. 18:00
• Full-day sailing experience on a 12-metre modern schooner
• Boarding at the Marina di Pisa harbour, next to the residence
• Navigation towards the Secche della Meloria
• Swimming stop (for brave people) and observation of the marine environment
• Lunch on board
• Active sailing: manoeuvres, sail trimming, roles on board for those who wish to participate
• Return to harbour in the late afternoon

Activity fee: €120 per person (minimum 10 – maximum 15 participants)

Equipment & clothing

• A checklist of appropriate clothing to bring for the sailing activity will be shared in advance.
• The technical partner will provide all mandatory safety equipment on board.

April 29th – SUP & Pisa

Morning – SUP experience
Transfer by van organised by Toscana SUP (our Technical Partner) or by participants’ own cars to Migliarino (approx. 15 minutes from the accommodation). From there, we will start a SUP navigation along the Serchio river, following its final stretch until the sea, arriving at Marina di Vecchiano – Bocca di Serchio.

The route is approximately 10 km of flat water and takes around 3 hours at a relaxed pace. Along the way, there are several scenic spots suitable for a lunch break. The final 4 km run alongside the San Rossore Natural Park, offering a quiet and immersive river environment.

This route is less adrenalin-driven than river sections with rapids, but the arrival at the sea is particularly striking. Even during the summer season, the final beach area is usually very quiet and can be reached by SUP, accessing areas not reachable on foot.

Please note: the exact SUP route may vary depending on river and sea conditions. If necessary, an alternative river section will be selected to ensure safety and quality of the experience.

At the end of the route, a van transfer will bring participants back to Migliarino, where they can collect their cars.

Cost: € 70 per person (minimum 7– maximum 15 participants)

Equipment & clothing

• All technical equipment required for the SUP activity (SUP board, paddle, life jacket, wetsuit) will be provided by the organisation.
• Participants are asked to bring a change of clothes, towel, and personal items for showering and personal use.

Lunch: Packed lunch (to be arranged individually and not included in the fee).
Afternoon: Time in Pisa: walking, exploring, informal group moments
Evening Dinner: either self-organised at the residence using the apartment kitchens, or at a local restaurant. The choice will be made together on site. Dinner is not included and must be paid separately.

April 30th – Transfer to EEE

• Wake-up and group debriefing on the previous two days
• Free time
• Transfer to Eliopoli for the main conference, either by local bus (bus n°10 from the Hotel), private car or taxi

Participation fee (options)

As places are limited, priority for accommodation will be given to participants who also join the activities.

Participants will be able to choose between the following options:

• Sailing + SUP + accommodation –> €120 accommodation + €120 sailing + €70 SUP = €310 total
• Sailing + accommodation –> €120 accommodation + €120 sailing = €240 total
• SUP + accommodation –> €120 accommodation + €70 SUP = €190 total

Final costs for combined options will be confirmed once all activity details are finalised. All prices are VAT included.

NOTE! Pre conference fee must be paid along with the conference fee.

Notes and Deadlines (Important!!)

• The pre-conference is designed as a small, shared experience.
• Activities take place close to the accommodation, reducing logistics.
• This is not a training course, but an experiential context where learning emerges through doing, observing and reflecting together.
• All prices are TurismTax and  VAT included and activities are organised by amateur sports associations. In order to confirm accommodation we need to receive by March 15th.
• In order to confirm both the sailing and SUP activities, the minimum number of participants must be reached by March 15th.
• Participation is confirmed upon payment of the pre conference participation fee.
• Anything not explicitly mentioned in the program description is excluded and must be paid separately.
