|Using Appreciative Inquiry
This workshop explores in a practical way the principles and methods of Appreciative Inquiry – from a facilitator’s point of view. And I would like to share my experiences of using Appreciative Inquiry in the process of organisational change and development – from a manager’s point-of-view.
This workshop explores ways of making reviewing a more visual process – at all stages of the learning cycle. It will include visual methods for mapping relationships, concepts and metaphorical journeys in the workplace. Please bring any favourite visual aids or learning toys that you would like to share.

|Anger Management, or Protecting the Cat …
Where previous programmes have followed a more didactic path, this new approach developed by Gestalt therapist Helen McLean for the UK mental health charity MIND seeks to develop the individuals understanding of their own anger. Rather than providing reasons for and strategies to control anger, it offers opportunities for self awareness and change. This 3 hour workshop will, I hope, give people a glimpse of the power of the programme, and explain about the cat.

Strategic game. It is our personal invention and it works! It is a construction game in which you build a real bridge, have to establish a company, launch a bank account, take loans and pay salaries. It will last for 3 hours.
Evening program, which is a real blast! Informal atmosphere and volunteer participation are granted.
|Exploring Creative Response Debriefing to Challenge Activities
What would it be like to process challenge activities using our right brain more creative and non-verbal intelligence? A laboratory to explore using creative arts therapies techniques in the debriefing process of challenge activities. Among the expressive activities used in the debriefing process will be: drawing or painting and movement. I don’t have the answers, will provide the structure and the suggested creative activities, and we’ll explore together. Mini-theory to brush up on the differences between left and right brain functions provided. No artistic experience necessary.

Most times when we plan programms for big groups there are lot of things to consider – rotation system or parallel lines, change of trainers at the station or not, sequences, timing, etc.
In this workshop we want to discuss different experiences we all had and think of possibilities to organize these programms for the best outcome of our client – eg. “the parallel / line choose yourself” structure of the presenters.
|“Fiss – Franks interdependant swinging square” a combination of mohawk-walk and low-v
Fiss is an outdoor low exercise; group-activity, built with: static rope, rapid links, pulleys. The workshop is meant for trainers who are interested in the construction as well as in the learning-impact.
Time: 60-90 min (briefing & action 30min, debrief 15min, hardskill session 30min)

The inner team is a tool used in communication psychology and provides insight in our own leadership style. Whenever we are leading a team, we are always leading two teams. The one inside us will be explained and explored in this 1-2 hours workhop.

|Intercultural encounters – a simulation game
The workshop aims to sensitize the participants for intercultural differences. Potentially contra-productive attributions and behavioral patterns will be discussed and analysed. During the workshop we will use an exercise to simulate the encounter of different cultures. The experiences resulting from this exercise will be the basis for our discussion.
|CSR: Volcanoes Safetey Project, a film
From the actives Volcanoes in the Aeolian Islands (Italy – July 2002) to a Craterian Lake in Costa Rica (march 2003): A training experience where the work on personal and group skills and competences has been conjugated with the Corporate Social Responsibility. The DHL sales force took in charge 2 real scientific projects focused on community and environment safety. DHL group worked on the field, studying the Volcanoes, together with the volcanoes experts of Pisa (Italy) and Heredia (Costa Rica) University. At the end of the whole path, a big Exposition in Milan with the partnership of DHL and MAP: the last step and the tangible result of the whole project.
Emphasises non-martial aspects of archery. The original idea came from the wish to make this activity more acceptable within a western training context. Timing and perception of time are keywords. This workshop may be combined with a workshop on Aikido by Gabriel da Fonseca. Group size: 12 participants max. Report workshop
Thanks to the aid of the Dutch Film Archive, I have been able to put together a dvd of half an hour, with historic filmmaterial from Germany, Netherlands, Tsjechoslovakia and Turkey. The material covers a wide variety of topics, from a first aid instruction film (1925) to corporate training (1994). The dvd will play during the conference.
|What is this?
An important aspect of experiential learning is the reviewing of activities. This can be done in different ways, with the help of many tools. In this workshop one more way of reviewing is offered: the ‘socratic method’. It consists in the use of a single tool: the question.
A very short introduction of the socratic method will be followed by an outdoor-activity. This will then be reviewed in a socratic way. After this we will do another activity, which the participants will review socratically. Click here for a backgroundarticle on Socratic dialogue

Our dogs will help you to discover and strengthen your (un)known qualities.
Oure story. For 12 years we organize adventures and actif holidays all over the world to special places for people with a mental handicap. We give them experiences that they thought that they couldn’t have (rafting, climbing, canoeing, etc). Our mentors use methods to get the best out of these people and try to give them more confidence and we try to let them create a mind of their own. We look to the things they can do and not what they can’t.

An active exercise workshop. 15 min- to 40 min workshop, good for a break during the conference, at any time, indoor or outdoor.
|The roses war
Game supporting development of communication and argumentation skills, meant for the whole group, but not everyone has to take part in it. This game runs parallel to other activities. Tasks to be fulfilled are announced in times when group is together (breakfast, lunch, diner) with the chance to be accomplished in the dark. Duration: 48 hours.
