Miercurea Ciuc (Csíkszereda in Hungarian, Szeklerburg in German) is the county seat of Harghita County, Romania. It lies in the ‘Székely Land’, an ethno-cultural region in eastern Transylvania, and it is situated at a distance of 265 km north from Bucharest, 250 km south-east from Cluj-Napoca and 450 km south-east from the border of Hungary.
