FOREWORD
Dear EEE friends and fans
There are only 26 days left until the start of the 20.th edition of the EEE conference. Please do not forget to sign up before 20th April.
Introduction
I would like to thank Sergio for his unconditional help in the preparation of the EEE 2016 conference and use this opportunity to invite him to be an honorary member of the team of organizers.
It helps a lot if you have the support of the organizers from the previous year, because there are so many documents and ideas already prepared and proven to work well, that do not need to be reinvented.
IMPRESSIONS ABOUT EEE
EEEItaly2015: dream or reality?
Sergio Cabigiosu
If I think back to EEE Italy, sometimes I still can’t believe that everything is over. It has been an awesome adventure and I would be ready to start it again. Sometimes I miss it and sometimes I am happy to go back on the participant side. If I look back to EEE Italy 2015 in my mind turn on some undeletable pictures:
PIC 1: All the plenary standing up for an ovation gratifying our efforts and demonstrating the appreciation for our work.
PIC 2: “…e adesso che gavemo la strada sterrata….tu, tuuuuu!” EEE Particpants mixed with choire singing a traditional song in dialect from Trentino in an unexpected duette, that will remain in the history of EEE.
PIC 3: 70 people working together in silent (or almost) to create the EEE wood made from all diverse threes, but binded together by the common spirit of sharing, exactly like the beatles’ songs were doing at the end of each day.
And from the Beatles I borrow the last sentence for this little article, Hoping that they are receiving all the support needed and wishing Misi and Istvan a wonderful Transylvanian EEE edition “with a little help from my friend!”.
DID YOU KNOW THAT?
Mofettes also Moffettes
Are openings in the earth from which dry carbon dioxide (with a concentration up to 98%) and other gases escape, usually marking the last stage of volcanic activity.
The beneficial effects of this special bath method were already known in the Roman era.
Since the 19th century several documents have mentioned the utilization of the Transylvanian mofettes by the traditional medicine.
The local people built wood pools around the openings in the earth and they stand in them for up to 20 minutes while the heavier carbon dioxide gas swirls around their knees and is absorbed by the skin. Inhaling the gas can be fatal, so it’s strictly under medical supervision.
Mofettes are recommended for the treatment of the cardiovascular and nervous system diseases. However they are used and enjoyed both by those who are fit and those wishing to improve for better health.
